Job Description:
As a Compensation Contractor, you will support the strategy, design, and maintenance of NorthStar Anesthesia’s compensation programs. You will work with HR and executive leadership to ensure our competitive market position in compensation. You will focus on merit, bonus, and equity to ensure employee satisfaction. This project-based role offers flexible hours, allowing you to utilize your expertise in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with HR and executive leadership to define and articulate NorthStar’s compensation philosophy.
- Develop and maintain accurate job descriptions, ensuring alignment with actual job responsibilities.
- Use market intelligence tools to benchmark roles and determine competitive compensation ranges.
- Provide expert advice and creative solutions to address compensation challenges.
- Evaluate job positions for appropriate classification and salary determination.
- Stay informed about relevant employment regulations, benefits, and compensation policies.
- Assist with the annual merit cycle and standardize pay-for-performance models.
- Participate in salary surveys and provide analysis for special projects.
- Conduct data analysis to support proactive compensation planning.
- Prepare ad hoc reports and lead training sessions on compensation principles.
- Other compensation-related projects and duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Five or more years of compensation experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Preferred experience in healthcare industry compensation, particularly for clinicians and clinical leaders.
- Certification as a Compensation Professional (e.g., CCP) preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially database and spreadsheet tools.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to analyze and present data effectively.
- Demonstrated initiative and attention to detail.
- Strong executive presence and ability to lead consultative conversations.
