An investigation is underway after two children were killed in an incident at a Duxbury home.

Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz said a 911 call came in shortly before 6:15 on Tuesday night from a male resident of a home on Summer Street. He said a woman had attempted suicide.

Police responded to the home where they discovered three children "unconscious with obvious signs of trauma," said Cruz.

A 5-year-old girl and 3-year-old boy were taken to the hospital where they were pronounced dead, according to a WBTS report. A 7-month-old boy was also airlifted to a Boston hospital for treatment.

Cruz said this was not a random incident and reassured there is no threat to the public at this time.

No further information was immediately available.

WBTS contributed to this report.
