Providence police said Monday that a man will face a murder charge in the shooting death of another man over the weekend.

Police said 25-year-old Ivan Encarnacion of Providence was shot to death early Sunday morning at a Burnside Street home that was being used as an afterhours drinking establishment.

Police said Antonio Reyson Leonor Uffre, 26, with addresses in Woonsocket and Florida, will face charges of murder and possession of a ghost gun.

Uffre was ordered held without bail at his arraignment Monday afternoon.

Police said the two men, who apparently didn't know each other, got into an argument.

"First and foremost, as a father, as the chief of police, and as a community member, my heart goes out to the family for their loss," said Col. Oscar Perez. "I just want to commend the great work that the detectives did and also the great work that the Patrol Division did. The quick response allowed us to make a quick apprehension and seize evidence at the scene."

Separately, police said a man was injured Saturday night in a shooting on North Main Street.

Investigators said two cars met in a parking lot. People got out of the cars and got into an argument over something.

One pulled a gun on the other.

Police said the victim was stable at Rhode Island Hospital and will recover.
