Pawtucket Police Officer Daniel Dolan sat in Kent County Superior Court Wednesday as the man he's accused of shooting took the stand.

On June 23, 2021, Dominic Vincent said he was driving two friends to pick up a pizza in West Greenwich. Dolan's attorney said the officer had just gotten off of work and was heading home on Interstate 95 when Vincent sped by.

"State police investigated and confirmed that, at that location, exit 6A, the vehicle was traveling at 126 mph," said Michael Colucci, defense attorney.

Dolan, in a white truck, pulled in behind the black Audi at Wicked Good Pizza. Security video shows Dolan approach the car and flash his police badge, which Vincent said he thought was fake.

When the teen went to leave, the defense claims the cop feared for his life.

"He said, 'You're going to get shot,'" Vincent testified.

Seconds later, he said his car window shattered.

"My arm is hot, burning. It's tilting kind of, or swaying. I can't move it correctly," Vincent said.

He said he drove down the road a bit then pulled over and got out. Shortly after, he said Dolan approached him.

"It was something along the lines of, what the (expletive) were you doing on the highway? Why the (expletive) were you driving like that?" said Vincent.

He said Dolan made him a tourniquet for his bleeding arm and called for help.

Dolan is charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one count of discharging a firearm when committing an act of violence.

The defense is expected to continue cross-examining Vincent Thursday morning.
