WAREHAM, Mass. (WJAR) — Authorities in Wareham, Massachusetts rescued a dog that fell through the ice on Saturday morning.
Wareham fire and police responded to a call just after 7 a.m. for a report of a dog that fell through the ice on a pond.
The dog, named Dakota, was about 150 feet out from shore amid freezing temperatures.
About 20 officials ultimately responded to the scene.
Dakota was in the water for an estimated 20 minutes before being rescued.
The dog was brought to a waiting rescue vehicle to warm up and be returned to its owners.
Dakota was then taken to a veterinarian for further treatment.
