The vice principal of Toll Gate High School in Warwick was charged with DUI earlier this month.

The Westerly Police Department log showed Todd Grimes was arrested on Feb. 2 and is accused of driving under the influence.

Westerly police told NBC 10 News that the report is still not available.

Grimes spent several years in the Rhode Island education system. He was the former principal of Westerly High School and a dean in the Chariho School District.

Warwick Superintendent Dr. Lynn Dambruch told NBC 10 News that Grimes is the current assistant principal at Toll Gate, but wouldn't comment further on personnel matters.

NBC 10 News tried reaching Grimes in person and by email for comment, but didn't hear back.

NBC 10 News also called RH Humphrey Law Offices to request a comment from Grimes' lawyer, but the spokesperson said they have no comment.

The news comes after a longtime Warwick School Committee member, Karen Bachus, was arrested for DUI and assaulting an officer over the weekend.

Bachus addressed her charges on Facebook on Wednesday.

Bachus did not return NBC 10’s phone calls and emails.

Parents are hoping school leaders will be held accountable.

"We want them to be safe. Parents worry about that enough without adding other things to it," said Kristen Lynch, a mother of four.
