A gorgeous winter day across the Ocean State as long as you can put up with the chilly temperatures. By the afternoon hours, temperatures manage to reach the low to mid 30s, potentially the coldest high in over two weeks.

The forecast is even better on Thursday. Mother Nature is calling for more sunshine and temperatures back near 40 degrees!

A significant shift in the weather predawn Friday as a moisture-starved cold front sweeps through. On the backside of the front, winds become gusty out of the north, northwest, allowing for the coldest air mass the region has observed in years to settle in.

Temperatures on Friday morning start in the upper 20s to low 30s but gradually fade to the single digits by the afternoon.

Winds out of the northwest between 10-25 mph persist Friday night. This is when there is the highest threat of frostbite. Wind chill values are forecast to reach -25 to -10.

Winds diminish Saturday morning as temperatures start to climb into the upper 10s. And just like that, our Arctic blast is over with. Sunday, temperatures are back into the mid 40s and remain there through the rest of the 10-Day forecast.
