(WJAR) — Stonington police said they located and seized a suspect vehicle believed to be involved in a fatal hit-and-run.
According to police, Gary Piver of Stonington was riding his bike home Monday night on South Broad Street when a gray Toyota SUV hit him and fled the scene.
Piver, who would have turned 70-years-old this week, was taken to Westerly Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Stonington police said the suspect vehicle was located at a Stonington home on Wednesday using town cameras, private cameras and a license plate reader.
Police did not state if they have identified a suspect.
NBC 10 spoke with people who work in the area who said speeding is not uncommon in the area.
