BROOKLYN, Conn. (WJAR) — Connecticut State Police said Wednesday that a child and two adults were found dead inside their home in Brooklyn.
State police said they were investigating a suspicious incident at the Middle Street home at about 8 p.m. Tuesday when the discovery was made.
"The child is not a student of the Brooklyn Public Schools but our hearts break for their family and loved ones," a statement from superintendent Patti Buell said.
The names of the deceased were not immediately released.
Neighbors told NBC 10's Joanna Bouras that they heard gunshots overnight. Those neighbors said a man, woman and child moved into the apartment a few months ago.
"It breaks your heart, yeah, it’s really sad, and you know, it’s hard. You have Valentine's Day, so my thinking is it’s something emotional," said Douglas Phaiah, a neighbor.
All three people were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said there was no threat to the public.
