A man with an active warrant out of Sanford, Maine was arrested by New Bedford police detectives in connection to cocaine trafficking on Saturday.

Police said officers were patrolling in the city's south end when they pulled over a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker.

The vehicle stopped on Mosher Street, where the driver, 20-year-old Julius Andrade, parked in a driveway and started to walk away.

Police searched his vehicle and reportedly found two plastic baggies of over 130 grams of cocaine under some clothes in the passenger seat.

Police said they found another 40 grams of cocaine in Andrade's pants while arresting him.

Authorities noted Andrade was unlicensed.

Andrade was charged with trafficking in cocaine in excess of 100 grams, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and being a fugitive from justice.
