East Greenwich science teacher put on leave over allegations of inappropriate behavior

(WJAR) — A teacher at Archie R. Cole Middle School in East Greenwich was placed on paid leave over reports of inappropriate behavior, an administrator said Monday.

The East Greenwich superintendent said in a letter to the school community that administrators received reports alleging inappropriate behavior against science teacher Adam Scott.

"It is important to note that placing an employee on paid administrative leave is standard practice during an ongoing investigation, and it is not punitive or an indication of any wrongdoing," Superintendent Dr. Brian Ricca said.

Scott will remain on leave pending the outcome of an investigation.
