Woman hit by car in Fairhaven dies from injuries

(WJAR) — Fairhaven police said a woman hit by a car last week died from her injuries over the weekend.
Carolyn Preece, 81, died over the weekend at Saint Luke's Hospital after being struck by a car on Tuesday, Feb. 28.
Police said Preece was wearing dark clothing while walking on Sconticut Neck Road. According to police, Preece was not in a crosswalk when she was hit.
Police said the driver stayed on the scene. Investigation found drugs, alcohol, or cell phone use did not play a factor in the crash.
The driver has not been charged, according to police.
