My Selfie Experience opened its doors on Smith Street in Providence almost a year ago.

Owner Myeasha Davis says she created the first museum of its kind in Rhode Island.

She wanted to give people the opportunity to have colorful backdrops and cultural scenes to enhance their photos.

"A lot of time, people don't have a place to take beautiful pictures," she said.

Davis walked NBC 10 News through the studio which offers an array of backgrounds, including a mural of flags of countries around the world.

Her vision was to give young people in Rhode Island a new, exciting activity.

"If you're looking for something fun to do, something that touches every single culture, something that is different that you want your kids to enjoy, this is the perfect place," Davis told NBC 10.

The museum is open Wednesday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 8 p.m.

For general admission or to book a private event, give My Selfie Experience a call at 401-365-9846.
