Person taken to hospital after being hit by car in Fairhaven

FAIRHAVEN, Mass. (WJAR) — Police say a pedestrian was struck by a car in Fairhaven Tuesday night.

The crash took place shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Sconticut Neck Road.

Fairhaven police told NBC 10 the driver stayed on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital. The extent of the person's injuries is unknown at this time.

Fairhaven Police Department and Massachusetts State Police remained on the scene for accident reconstruction.
