The Providence Department of Public Works said Monday that personnel and equipment are ready to go and that roadways will be pretreated ahead of the expected snowfall.
Storm Team 10 says the region is expected to get a widespread 4 to 8 inches of snow through the end of the storm Tuesday night.
In a press conference Monday, Providence Mayor Brett Smiley said there will be 42 city plow trucks and an additional 47 vendors hitting the roads Monday night.
Smiley said the plowing will start when around 2 inches accumulate.
"Residents and business owners alike deserve to know that they're going to get high quality services for what they're paying for and that the city will be cleaned up in a timely fashion after a snow event," Smiley said.
The Providence Emergency Management Agency said the following locations will be available for people experiencing homelessness:
The shelters will open Monday night and stay open 24 hours.
