Rhode Island NBA skills trainer, Robert McClanaghan, sat down with NBC 10 in an exclusive interview following the news that theSuffolk County District Attorney's Office is dropping their case against him.

He was accused of drugging and raping a woman in downtown Boston.

In January, McClanaghan's bail was reduced after a toxicology report showed no "commonly used date rape drugs."

The DA's office announced Wednesday the case was being dropped as they could not prove the charges.

"Based on a review of all available evidence, including information that emerged after the defendant's arrest, the Commonwealth has determined that it cannot prove these charges beyond a reasonable doubt at trial," prosecutors wrote in a statement.

The Warwick resident was arrested in East Greenwich while bringing his then 8-year-old daughter to basketball practice.

"A vision I'll never get out of my mind, and a vision she'll never get out of her mind which kills me," said McClanaghan.

He said the arrest, and the four months following it, were traumatic for him and his family.

"I think people that know me and have known me for a long time know that there's no way in Hell I'm capable of something this heinous," McClanaghan said.

McClanaghan said he will work on rebuilding his life, career and relationships.

"Hopefully people now know what I knew the whole time, and what my lawyer knew the whole time," he said. "It's good to take my life back."
