Please take a moment to read the brief description of the mentee role and its expectations outlined below.
Mentees are willing to commit to the time requirement and have an open mind during the process. Mentee’s will communicate clearly and openly with their mentor by sharing concerns or expectations openly. The mentee will take ownership of the learning needs and will take the responsibility to drive the agenda for the mentor/mentee meetings. The mentee will explore their own strengths and weaknesses and how these may contribute or detract from reaching success.
Mentees are expected to:
1. Ask for specific feedback during the meeting
2. Demonstrate good time management
3. Maintain regular contact with the mentor and update the mentor on progress
4. Have an agenda of discussion topics for meetings
5. Listen
6. Show respect and work to develop trust
7. Show commitment to the mentee/mentor partnership
8. Share ideas and feedback
