Call for Proposals for the 2017 NACADA CT State Drive-in
Yaa-yaah!! (Greetings in Ewokese)

On behalf of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) and the University of Connecticut we have the pleasure of inviting you to participate in the 2017 CT State Drive-In Conference:

“May the fourth be with us: Advise, you must.”
Thursday, May 4, 2017
9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the University of Connecticut

This conference will be a great learning opportunity for members of the local community and those in nearby states to join in on the conversation of academic advising in higher education. This conference presents an excellent opportunity to meet the needs of academic advisors in addressing various topics, but we need our colleagues to present to make it a success!

Please submit a program proposal no later than April 7th, 2017.

What is the Criteria when selecting presentations?

Proposals will be evaluated based on relevance to current issues in advising, appeal to conference participants, creativity, ingenuity, and applicability for participants after the conference.  We are seeking a wide range of presentation topics relating to academic advising from a variety of advising professionals in CT and our neighboring states.

With the Star Wars theme, feel free to be creative and incorporate that! Our concurrent sessions will be tied into the movie titles of the original Star Wars trilogy, if you would like to consider that in your proposal:
Episode IV: A New Hope
Episode V: The Advisors Strike Back
Episode VI: Return of the Student

Who Should Submit a Proposal Application?

We earnestly encourage novice as well as experienced presenters to submit a proposal. Whether you have been in Advising for years or recently joined this community—we want to hear from you!

If you have techniques or proven practices to share that address higher education’s academic advising needs or promote the advancement of the advising profession’s role in enhancing student learning and development, please consider submitting a proposal application.

What is Required for Submission?

Proposals should include presenter(s) information, session title, abstract (100 words or less not including title), presentation tracks, and a presentation description (300 characters minimum) outlining the presentation's objectives and actions to complete proposed objectives.
