Step Up Clackamas Registration

Step Up Clackamas (Event Date: April 08, 2023) is a student-led event that centers the experiences of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) youth and students in Clackamas County, Oregon. The goal of the Step Up Clackamas, defined by a student-led steering committee,  is to create an accessible and impactful event that allows attendees to learn from each other and celebrate our communities, as well as provide youth an opportunity to share how Clackamas County can be a more welcoming place for everyone. The event includes various activities for students, their families, and their community members. Participants can attend the event in person and online.

Step Up Clackamas activities include:
  1. Student Workshop on Giving Testimony (online and in-person; open to youth ages 11-18 only): This workshop is hosted by Next Up and will teach students how to share their stories in an impactful way that inspires change in their school and the greater community.

  2. Student Art Gallery (in-person only; open to everyone): Community members can experience art pieces depicting the Clackamas county students and youth wish to live in. Community members will also be able to contribute their perspectives by adding to an interactive community art wall.

  3. Student Leaders Panel Discussion (online and in-person; open to everyone): Hear about the experiences and stories of BIPOC students leading racial justice efforts across Clackamas County. Learn from students how community members can support BIPOC students in the region.

After submitting this registration form, you will be asked to complete and sign a Photo Release form from Clackamas Community College. All attendees must sign this form, as there will be photographers at the event, and some activities will be video recorded.
