I am a member in good standing of at least the Maryland Bar. *
I understand that by registering for this training I must agree to accept at least one pro bono case from ILS within one (1) year of the training date.  Accepting a case means the following: a) for the asylum training: provide representation on an asylum case before the Asylum Office OR before the Immigration Court; or b) for the SIJS training: provide representation on the Maryland circuit court portion, the immigration court portion, OR both portions of a SIJS case. *
I understand that if I do not accept at least one pro bono SIJS case from ILS within one (1) year of the training date, I will be required to reimburse ILS in the amount of $200. *
I understand that as a volunteer working on a pro bono SIJS case I will be asked to create a Better Impact volunteer profile and submit the number of hours I worked on the case on a monthly basis. *
I understand that as a volunteer working on a pro bono SIJS case I will be granted access to sample documents, templates, interpreter/translation services, mentorship, and opportunities to observe court proceedings.   *
I understand that at the conclusion of the case I will be asked to complete an evaluation of my experience within thirty (30) days. *
I understand that ILS provides optional malpractice insurance for attorneys providing pro bono representation.  I understand that anyone using ILS' malpractice insurance must use ILS templates, must submit all filings to ILS staff with 3 weeks' notice for review, and must accept all ILS edits to filings. *
I understand that ILS provides a co-counsel model for some cases.  I understand that if I am assigned a case with a co-counsel model of representation, I must submit all filings to ILS staff with 3 weeks' notice for review, and must accept all ILS edits to filings. *
I understand that any non-Maryland licensed attorney wishing to provide representation on the Maryland circuit court portion of a SIJS case through our office under Rule 15 will be required to submit all filings to ILS staff with 3 weeks' notice for review and must accept all ILS edits to filings. *
