What you will need.
Plan to plant shrub and forb seedlings by hand. Training and planting equipment is provided. If you have a favorite planting tool like a small shovel or garden trowel, bring it along! Seedling planting involves hiking, digging and bending over/kneeling to plant. Bring along work gloves if you have them (provided for those that need them).
Please remember to dress for Fall weather. You will need to bring layered clothing and boots or sturdy shoes, hat, and sunscreen. It could be rainy, breezy and cool OR it could be sunny and warm. Volunteer activities are subject to change due to weather conditions.
Come prepared! You will need to bring a sack lunch and water for the day. We will be working near the parking area so access to vehicles will be easy. Please visit:
ibo.boisestate.edu/boiseriver to get detailed instructions for how to get to the site. Plan to park in the parking lot with the red star, or in the green overflow lot if parking fills up
There are no restrooms at the planting site but volunteers can drive a short distance to restrooms at Columbia Village or Discovery State Park.
