The City of Victoria operates five parkades, in addition to providing street parking.  Paid parking hours are from 8 am – 8 pm, for all parkades and parking zones.

On-street parking is free from 8 pm to 8 am, and all day on holidays; on Sundays, on-street parking has a four-hour time limit at a rate of $2.50/hour in a 90-minute zone and $1.50/hour in other parts of downtown.  (Drivers with accessible parking permits can park for up to 4 hours on Sundays at regular on-street metered parking places.)

At the five City parkades, parking is free from 8 pm to 8 am and all day on Sundays and holidays.  All parkades have a rate of $2.50/hour.  Learn more here.

If you pay when you park with the ParkVictoria app, you can ‘top up’ your parking session if your errand takes a few minutes longer than expected … or get a refund of any unused time when you are ready to head home.  This is one of the most convenient ways to pay for parking in Downtown Victoria, as it reduces your risk of tickets for staying overlong and ensures that you only pay for the time that you use.

For cyclists, a free, bike valet is open at City Hall! Operating like a coat-check, the free service is open seven days a week, with the following spring opening hours:

  • Monday to Thursday 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Friday 7:30 a.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Saturday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Sunday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The service is open to everyone and is a great option for employees and customers. Bikes (including electric, cargo, and recumbent bikes), push scooters, jogging strollers, bike trailers, and other forms of active transportation are all welcome in the Valet, located in the covered space below the Antechambers of City Hall. Helmets, panniers, lights and anything else securely attached to bikes can also be left.  (Bikes cannot be left overnight; after operating hours the bikes are left at the owners’ risk).

Free shields and registration with Project 529, the bike theft registration and recovery system used by the Victoria Police Department, is also available.
Find out more about the bike valet service at Victoria.ca/BikeParking.

All five city parkades also offer free, covered bicycle parking.

EV charging stations are available in a few downtown locations, and there are also several parking spots for individuals with mobility challenges.
