    Uniphore to set up a team in North America

    CHENNAI: Following the completion of 10 years since its incubation, voice/speech recognition based technology company Uniphore announced its global expansion plans and foray into the United States of America, the largest potential market for its solutions.
    Umesh Sachdev, co-founder & CEO, Uniphore, said, “We have been growing at a rate of 100% in the last three years and are looking to clock yet another 300%-400% growth in the coming years. Entry into the US market will catapult us to the next level as it is the biggest market for our products.”

    The company announced a 25-member team in San Jose, California which will mainly manage the marketing and sales operations in North America. The total headcount of the company stands at 230 currently, including the new team.

    Incubated at IIT Madras in 2008, Uniphore was founded by Umesh Sachdev and Ravi Saraogi Uniphore offers three products based on speech recognition, its flagship auMina which is speech analytics product, Akeira that provides voice-based virtual assistance, and amVoice which reduces possibilities of human error by using voice biometrics.

    Uniphore is funded by John Chambers, Kris Gopalakrishnan, IDG, IIFL, Indian Angel Network (IAN), YourNest Fund, and Ray Stata.
