The National Institute is affectionately known as the Rural Social Work Conference. Whether you’re a seasoned practitioner, student, or educator, this is the ONE place you’ll find everyone truly understands:
-the challenges, opportunities, and benefits of practicing in small towns and rural communities
-advocating for marginalized people and under-resourced systems
-preparing students to effectively engage with rural individuals, families, and groups, and to become leaders in the organizations charged with meeting rural human needs Rural social work practice is different.

Experience the difference of being with like-minded colleagues! The conference topics and speakers offer specific knowledge on a wide range of practice, policy, and practitioner education topics relevant to rural settings. For nearly 50 years, the National Rural Social Work Caucus has collaborated with partners to host this annual exploration, celebration, and renewal of all things Rural Social Work. You are welcome and encouraged to join us!
