Fifty years ago, several troops from the southern part of Mecklenburg County Council came together to plan a weekend of camping, fun, and competition. Named the Elgixin Mechmauwikenk (meaning "Worthy Camper"), this event became the basis of district camporees in the area for the next five decades.
This year, the Etowah District is holding a celebration of 50 years of district camporees in our area in the form of Etowah's first Elgixin Mechmauwikenk Camporee.
The event will be from Mar 24-26. The fee is $20 per participant. Our troop leadership will complete the registration, but to prepare for that, we'll need to build our roster, so please complete the form below.
We are looking for adults to help man the event stations of Saturday, March 25. Please acknowledge if you'd be able to help.
