KBP 2024 Summer Musical Camp Registration
Thank you for your interest in Kids' Backporch Productions 2024 Summer camp.   Don't let your child(ren) miss this great summer musical theatre camp offerings with Kids’ Backporch Productions (KBP)! 

Note: Registration will be capped at 50 students. Once we have reached capacity, we will let you know if you have been placed on the waitlist. If you are on the waitlist, you will receive an email confirmation only if a spot opens up.

Important Information:

The show does not go on without the help of our parents! Your tuition payment for KBP’s three-week camp includes, but is not limited to, director’s fees, rights to perform the show, script orders, facility rental, advertising materials, prop, set and costume purchases. This means that our parent volunteers are critical to the success of each production. Parents are asked to volunteer a minimum of 12 hours pre-production and 12 hours during tech/production week to assist with backstage support, lights and sound, prop making, set construction and concessions.  No experience required, our team will guide you as you learn the backstage process of a show.

JATGP will be directed by Stephen Hurst and Keagan Greer will be the Music Director.   


Camp is open to campers currently in 1st grade through 12th grade (must be 18 and under).  

Students must attend all 3 weeks of camp, attend Production week rehearsals and participate in all scheduled performances.

•      Auditions will be at Shadycrest Baptist Church – Family Activity Center, 3214 Hamm Rd, Pearland, TX 77581
•      Camp will be at Shadycrest Baptist Church – Fellowship Hall, 3017 Yost Blvd, Pearland, TX 77581
•      Evening rehearsals and performances will be at CA Nelson Auditorium, 2337 N Galveston Ave, Pearland, TX 77581

Cost per camp

  • March 26 to May 1 - Tuition is $625
  • Late registration after May 1 - Tuition is $675

A 10% discount is available when signing up multiple family siblings from the same household. Optional early drop off is available for an additional fee.

Tuition discounts available for Stage Manager, Committee leads/co-leads.

The tuition is non-refundable.


Auditions

James and the Giant Peach
•      Solo Auditions: April 27, 2024 1-4PM
•      Group Auditions: April 28, 2024 1-4PM

What to Bring to Auditions:
•      Completed Audition Form, including a list of potential scheduling conflicts
•      Completed Parent Volunteer Form
•      Completed Parental Agreement
​•      Completed Student Agreement
•      Copy of your headshot (helpful but not required)
•      Resume (also helpful but not required)
•      Tuition payment, if not already paid. 

What to Prepare for Solo Auditions:
•      30 seconds of a Broadway musical or Disney song (bring accompaniment on a phone or other device)
•      30 second memorized monologue

Group Audition Includes:
•      Script readings in front of the group
•      Singing songs from the show in front of the group
•      Learning and demonstrating a dance combination in front of the group
We recommend that actors wear comfortable clothes and shoes to move around in the group audition.

Optional early drop off is available at 8am for an additional fee of $40/week.  Will you need early morning drop off?  We will include the fee on the invoice. *
Each student will receive a Cast t-shirt which is included as part of tuition.  

This is for ordering additional shirts (for parents, siblings, etc).   If you would like to order a T-shirt, T-shirts are $18.50 each (add $2 for XXL and up).  We will include the fee on the invoice.
