Systems Engineer II

POSITION SUMMARY: FUJIFILM Dimatix is looking for a motivated person to join our Equipment and Technical Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing and conducting technical projects including the design, fabrication, modification and evaluation of electronic apparatus, components or circuitry for use in electronic and electro-mechanical equipment and devices. This candidate must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to identify and solve complex problems with minimal supervision. This is a hands-on position requiring creative thinking and an eagerness to tackle new challenges.

KNOWLEDGE: A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position.

JOB COMPLEXITY: Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.

SUPERVISION: Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.

EXPERIENCE: Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.

REQUIRED: - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience and 5 or more years of related experience - Design experience, including systems design & debug (hardware, software, motion control, etc.) - Experience writing complex VB.NET and/or C# applications - Competent skills with PLC, networking, device communications, integration and system design - Strong coordination and project management skills to handle complex projects - Problem-solving skills utilizing science and engineering to arrive at practical solutions - Ability to work alone or in teams in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and cross-functional teams - Engineering documentation skills including product specifications, test procedures, analytical reports, etc. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability and willingness to mentor less experienced engineers - Database experience. Ability to create new data structures, use stored procedures, develop user defined functions, etc.

DESIRED: - Advanced degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or related discipline - Knowledge of ink jet printing systems - SAP MES - Green Belt or Black Belt Certification - Manufacturing experience
