Steve’s CNS Lymphoma Battle

April 2023 Update: Dads cancer is no longer treatable. After the 3 rounds of chemo, and 18 rounds of whole brain radiation, there is nothing left to try. Soon, Dad will be moved from Mayo Clinic in Rochester to a hospice facility near home. We are hopeful that this will bring much needed peace after months of treatment and hospital stays. Hi everyone, it’s Angela. My Dad, Steve (Tev), just began treatment for Central Nervous System (CNS) Lymphoma. It’s an extremely rare type of brain cancer. In the US, only 1,500 people per year are diagnosed. He is currently being treated at ThedaCare in Appleton, WI. He will be receiving multiple rounds of aggressive, inpatient chemo, with more treatments will follow. As some know, he battled Non-Hodgkins lymphoma in his leg and almost a year ago, and he "rang the bell" on Christmas Day 2021. At the end of November 2022, this diagnosis came as a devastating shock for us after my Dad was in and out of the hospital for the past 5 weeks, misdiagnosed with TIAs and strokes when really it was the cancer cells growing in his brain. 

My Dad is such a good man. Time and time again, he has dropped everything he was doing to help people; whether that involved helping someone move, removing a tree, baling hay, making pulled pork, fixing plumbing, reroofing a house, cutting grass, the list is honestly endless. He never expected more than a “thank you.” He has never been the type to ask for help himself, so I am asking for everyone's help on his behalf. This GoFundMe has been set up to help my Mom, Suzanne, with the increasing medical bills that follow various ER visits, a few ambulance rides and now cancer treatments. All we really want for Christmas is for my Dad to get better, to be able to walk and talk and live life as he deserves to. Please continue to pray for Steve and my family during this time.
