Sophomore Season (2018)
Started 55 of 59 games for the Tar Heels primarily seeing action in left or right field • Hit .257 with 28 RBI, 26 runs scored and 2 home runs • Started his sophomore campaign slow but broke in the first home series of the year against Liberty collecting five hits, five RBI, three doubles and four runs scored • Notched his first home run of the season on April 3 with a monster blast to right field against South Carolina at BB&T Park • Strung together a five-game hitting streak from April 10-17 with two of those being multi-hit games • Season high three RBI with a bases clearing triple on April 14 against Virginia • Also notched 3 RBI on May 18 against Virginia Tech going 3 for 4 with a home run, double and run scored • Started all 8 games in the postseason for the Heels.
Freshman Season (2017)
Graduated from high school in December of 2016 and enrolled at UNC in January • Hit .327 with seven homers, 10 doubles and 46 RBIs • Also scored 45 runs and drew 36 walks • Appeared in 58 games and made 57 starts, primarily at designated hitter • Consensus freshman All-American who earned first-team honors from Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball, D1Baseball, NCBWA and Perfect Game • ABCA/Rawlings second-team all-region selection • Became the sixth player in program history to be named ACC Freshman of the Year • Had three hits and two RBIs in the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional • Had six hits, five RBIs, six runs scored and a homer in the ACC tournament to earn all-tournament honors • Had a late season surge that saw him raise his batting average 50 points with a team-best 18-game hitting streak from April 23 to May 27 • Had 24 multi-hit games on the year, including a season-best three hits on six occasions • Was second on the team with a .333 average in ACC play • Drove in multiple runs 12 times, including a season-high four RBIs against Maryland on March 14 • Homered twice in the sweep at Florida State • Hit safely in each of his first four career games, including a double in his UNC debut against Gardner-Webb on Feb. 22.
