The Rhode Island College women’s basketball team lost 56-51 to Christopher Newport University on Saturday night in Hartford, Connecticut. In the semifinal game, RIC led much of the contest before losing the lead at the 6:45 mark in the fourth quarter.

RIC never regained the lead again.

The Anchorwomen put on a ferocious comeback effort and battled back to only trail by three points. RIC had a 3-point from Izabelle Booth in the final ten seconds that bounced off the rim. If that three had connected — the game would have been knotted at 54.
