Rescue dog “Zeus” captured the attention of animal lovers everywhere when the Potter League for Animals put out a call for his adoption.

The Middletown rescue service let folks know that as they surmised he was part wolf, he could only be adopted in certain states.

Zeus was happily scooped up by his new owner Ron in mid-January and headed to his forever home in Vermont.

On Monday — the Potter League announced their promised results of Zeus’ doggie DNA. They wrote:

"Zeus took a DNA test, turns out he's 100% a good boy – and 12% wolf!

The results are in, and as we guessed, he does, in fact, have wolf content in him, so even though it was a little less than what we were told, the steps we took were exactly what needed to happen. And well, if anyone has been following Zeus' journey since adoption, we think he ended up exactly where he was meant to be.

Also, he is 2% coyote and some Chihuahua, so there's that."
