Two People Die Riding Unregistered Dirt Bike in Accident Involving SUV

Two people riding a dirt bike died in a crash Wednesday night in Cranston.
The accident occurred in the Edgewood section of the city, at the intersection of Broad Street and Wheeler Avenue, and involved an SUV.
According to police, the dirt bike was not registered.

In 2021, Hopkins had joined then-Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza at a joint press conference to announce a joint strategy to address the use of illegal ATVs and motorbikes on city streets.
On Tuesday in Providence, ATVs and dirt bikes — illegal for use on city streets — were seen racing through the city.
