Man Sleeping by Waterplace Park in Providence Robbed of Boots at Knifepoint

A man told police he was robbed of his boots — at knifepoint — while sleeping by Waterplace Park on Friday.
About Incident
Shortly after 2 PM on Friday, police responded to the CVS at Providence Place Mall for a report of a victim of a robbery.

According to the victim, the male suspect told him he was taking his boots, and that he had a knife.
The suspect reportedly fled with the boots toward Kennedy Plaza; the suspect went to the CVS to ask employees to call police.
Police said that a short while later they found the suspect matching the victim’s description.
He was in possession of the boots — and a knife, say police.
The boots were returned to the victim, and the suspect was arrested and taken to Central Station.
