Alana O'Hare, the former ABC6 reporter and press secretary to Governor Dan McKee, is joining the Providence Warwick Convention & Visitor's Bureau as Senior Director of the Tourism Improvement District.

“Alana’s energy, experience, and love of her home state make her a perfect choice for our organization,” said PWCVB President and CEO Kristen Adamo.  “We’ve put the pandemic behind us and have begun to develop innovative initiatives that fit the new paradigm.  Alana will be a big part of the evolution of the PWCVB.”

O’Hare will lead the organization’s communications efforts and oversee the day-to-day operations of the newly-formed Providence Tourism Improvement District, which is funded by a two percent assessment on hotel stays in the city.  Efforts to form a similar district are being undertaken in Warwick.

“I have always felt lucky to call Rhode Island home - from award-winning restaurants, to historic hotels and attractions, the Providence area is truly unique. That is why I am beyond excited to join the Providence Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau – their work is so important to keeping our tourism industry strong,” said O’Hare.  “Over the past 10 years, I have worked alongside the PWCVB in different capacities, and I’m thrilled to finally join the team and promote all that our state has to offer.”
