Top Georgetown Blog Declares Ed Cooley Will Be Next Hoyas Coach
Saturday, March 18, 2023
Arguably the leading Georgetown basketball blog declared shortly after the Providence College Friars lost to the University of Kentucky -- and were jettisoned from the NCAA tournament -- that Ed Cooley will be hired as the next Hoyas coach.
“Providence lost to Kentucky, 61-53, and Iona fell to UConn, 87-63. News about the coaching carousel is coming out fast and furious, including Casual Hoya declaring that Ed Cooley will indeed be the next coach of the Georgetown Hoyas. The question is, when? We wait,” Tweeted the "Casual Hoya."
The blog has dismissed the claims that Iona Coach Rick Pitino is headed to Georgetown — other publications claim that Pitino is now headed to St. Johns University.

Cooley has built Providence College into a Big East power and has been awarded multiple “lifetime” contracts by the PC administration.
Georgetown, once a near national dynasty in the 1980s, has been in chaos over the past two years, finishing at the bottom of the Big East.
Ed Cooley will be the next head coach of the Georgetown Hoyas.
