The law firm of Brennan, Recupero, Cascione, Scungio and McAllister (BRCSM) today that Lisa Kresge and Brian Hughes have been named equity partners in the firm, effective January 1, 2023.

Lisa Kresge, formerly of counsel, has been with the firm for more than 11 years, and Brian Hughes, formerly a limited partner, has been with the firm for more than 15 years.  They will also assume administrative and management responsibilities in the Providence, RI and Taunton, MA office, respectively.

These are the first equity partnership additions since the firm’s founding in 1991. All founding partners – Edmund Brennan, Joseph Recupero, Ronald Cascione, Benjamin Scungio and Kevin McAllister -- remain active at the firm.

“We are thrilled to add Lisa and Brian to our partnership, reflecting their significant contributions to the firm and collective vision to help lead us into the future,” said Managing Partner Benjamin Scungio.

Lisa Kresge joined BRCSM’s Providence office in 2011 from the Boston office of international law firm of Brown Rudnick, where she was a partner. With a focus on commercial finance, she represents businesses and financial institutions — including banks, credit unions, and mortgage servicers — in both transactional work and commercial litigation. She handles corporate restructuring and creditors’ rights matters, representing secured creditors, trade claimants and other parties-in-interest in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy and receivership cases in jurisdictions across the US. She routinely counsels commercial lenders and borrowers in connection with secured and unsecured credit facilities, asset-based financing, loan workouts, commercial and residential foreclosures and other lending and business transactions.

Admitted to practice law in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, she was elected to the board of the Rhode Island Women’s Bar Association in 2018 and is currently the treasurer of that organization. She is active in the Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce.

A graduate of Boston University School of Law, 1999, and American University, cum laude, 1996, Kresge is a resident of Mansfield, MA.

Salem Joins Residential Properties

RPL’s Barrington Office Welcomes Sales Associate Angie Salem  Residential Properties Ltd. is pleased to announce that Sales Associate Angie Salem has joined the expert roster of real estate advisors at our Barrington office. Angie comes to RPL from Coldwell Banker in Barrington. Her extraordinary enthusiasm for the profession earned her high honors in recent years, including the 2022 Greater Providence Board of Realtors® Gold Award. She also received the 2021 Coldwell Banker International President’s Circle Award, ranking in the top 7% of all Coldwell Banker agents worldwide. She is licensed in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts and speaks both Spanish and Arabic, adding to her considerable list of traits that make her an invaluable client resource.

From games of Monopoly to the real deal

Angie has created an impressive resume of sales and marketing achievement. She earned her MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and gained important life experience after five relocations across the country and abroad. Settling in Rhode Island in 2001, she worked for more than 18 years as a strategic marketing leader for ConAgra Foods and Hasbro Toys. After taking time off to raise her family, she sought a new challenge that would allow more personal interaction with clients and self-generated success. “In my previous career, I loved developing strategies to grow brands and launch new products that resonate with consumers,” Salem said. “When I decided to join the real estate industry, I was tickled to know that I would be face to face with my consumer, building relationships while advising them through one of life’s biggest purchase decisions.”

Earning her real estate license in 2018, Angie quickly became a leading agent, ranking in the top 2% in her office in 2021 and 2022. After a career working with large, publicly traded companies, however, she considered a change in direction. “Residential Properties is a powerhouse in the Ocean State and dominates the marketplace,” Salem noted. “I love how local Residential is and that it is 100% invested in the community it serves.” After a successful meeting with Barrington Broker Manager Ian Barnacle, she met with RPL President & CEO Sally Lapides along with the Executive Team to discuss the future. “I was honored to meet with RPL’s leadership team and felt so inspired by the direction the company is headed in,” Salem added. “After hearing about current and upcoming initiatives to re-invest in the brand, technology, and people, I felt it was a natural move. To think that Sally started this company in the early ‘80s with six employees and has grown it into an industry leader completing more than $1.1 billion in sales last year is incredible!”

Closing sales while opening up her network

A Barrington resident since 2009, Angie makes time for community impact. She supports the RI Food Bank and her local Tapin organization, helping with food drives and coat collection for children. She was on the board for the Red Brick School and held positions on both the Nayatt Elementary and Hampton Meadows Parent Teacher Organizations. Her husband John is a native Rhode Islander who grew up in Barrington on New Meadow Road and runs a 4th-generation jewelry wholesale distribution company. A house of seven children and two Labradoodles keeps her busy, but Angie relishes each moment in her friendly and picturesque community. As members of the Barrington Yacht Club, she and her family take every advantage of coastal living, including time at favorite beaches.

Connecting people with homes that meet their needs and lifestyle is a passion for Angie. With her vast knowledge of our communities, including Barrington, Bristol, the East Side of Providence, Oak Hill, East Greenwich, and beyond, she is looking forward to touching more lives and building her circle of friends and family. “It’s really all about connectivity,” Salem said. “My immediate plan is to take on more leadership roles in the community and in the real estate industry. I’m also in the process of getting my broker’s license and aim to have it for the spring market. I am awed and fortunate to be working under the Residential Properties umbrella and look forward to helping my clients with all their real estate needs.”
