Victim Shot At and Chased in Providence — After Telling Man to Stop Abusing Dog

A victim told police he was shot at, after telling a man to stop abusing a dog in Providence over the weekend.
About Incident
According to police, the victim said he observed a man kicking a dog in South Providence on Saturday, and that he stopped and said something to the man.

Afterward, the victim said he was urged by a friend to go back and help the dog; he said when he did, the man who had been abusing the dog was walking with another man on Broad Street at that point and the dog was gone.
One of the two men however began firing a gun at the victim’s vehicle, and then both men got into a car and began to chase the victim.
The victim reported the crime at Central Station on Washington Street on Saturday night and showed police his car, which had several bullet holes.
Detectives are currently investigating.
