Man Stabbed at Cranston Street Armory in Providence

A man was stabbed at the Cranston Street Armory in Providence on Friday morning.
The Providence facility currently serves as a “warming station” for individuals in need.

According to police, they met with the victim — a male in his 20s — inside the Armory, who told police he saw a man going through his belongings.
The victim said when he told the man to stop that he lunged at him with a knife, striking him in his face and his torso.
The victim was taken to Rhode Island Hospital.
Detectives say that with the assistance of the National Guard, they were able to locate a suspect.
The Rhode Island State Police were called in to take over the investigation.
