RIC Men’s Basketball Coach Steps Down, Team Was 8-16 This Year

Rhode Island College Head Men’s Basketball Coach Tom Glynn announced that he is stepping down after five seasons of guiding the Anchormen to pursue other opportunities.

RIC was 8-16 this season.

“I want to thank Athletic Director Don Tencher, Associate Athletic Director Jo-Ann D’Alessandro and Assistant Athletic Director Scott Gibbons for giving me the opportunity to lead the Rhode Island College basketball program,” Glynn said. “I also want to thank our student-athletes for all their hard work over the past five seasons. Rhode Island College is a special place and I will miss the relationships I was able to build in our athletic department.”

“Tom is a class act, an incredible person and consummate professional,” Director of Athletics Donald E. Tencher said. “His presence will be missed by everyone here at the college and, especially by me. I wish Tom the best as he enters a new phase in his professional career, but as I reminded him, he will forever be a member of our athletic family. I want to thank him for all of his efforts over the past five years.”

A nationwide search for the new Rhode Island College head men’s basketball coach will begin immediately.
