Police Investigating Break-In at Providence Place Mall

Providence Police responded to a report of a break-in at Providence Place Mall overnight.
It marks the latest news for the mall following Talbots’ announcement over the weekend of its impending departure from the location.

About Incident
Shortly after midnight on Tuesday, police responded to a report of a disturbance at Providence Place Mall.
Police said they met with mall security and then went to the third floor, where they observed Nike Air Force One sneakers and a bag with clothing items in the rear hallway.
In addition, police said they found a mini-crowbar.
Mall security said he had gone to the stores where the alarms went off — Hollister and PacSun — where he saw two suspects flee down an adjacent back staircase.
Security and detectives are currently investigating.
