Man Shot on Federal Hill in Providence

A man was shot in Providence on Sunday night, according to police.
The incident occurred off of Atwells Avenue on Federal Hill.

About Shooting
Shortly after 8 PM on Sunday, police responded to a report of shots fired on Sutton Street.
According to police, multiple shell casings were found at the scene.
As police were on Federal Hill, they received a report of a shooting victim at Rhode Island Hospital.
Police met with the victim — a male in his 20s — who had sustained gunshot to his leg.
The victim told police he had been sitting in friend's vehicle on Sutton Street when a man in a hooded sweatshirt approached the car and began firing a gun before fleeing.
He told police he was taken to the hospital by his friend.
Detectives are investigating.
