The Providence College men’s basketball team is going dancing. The Friars are a #11 seed

The Friars will play the University of Kentucky in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Friday.

Here are some other key critical factoids:

1. Big East has five teams in the tournament led by Marquette and its leader Rhode Island’s Tyler Koleck. He was the Big East Player of the Year.

 

2. Desmond Cambridge, formerly of Brown, is going dancing with his third college basketball team — Arizona St. They have a play in a #11 seed play-in game against Cambridge’s other former team Nevada

 

3. URI’s Conference — the Atlantic 10 — got just one team in the tournament — Virginia Commonwealth University. And, the Ivy League is represented by Princeton — they are a 15 seed.

 

4. Alabama is the overall #1 team in the tournament.

Kansas, Houston, and Purdue are the other three #1 seeds.

 

5. Danny Hurley’s UConn, a #4 seed, plays Rick Pitino’s #13 seed, Iona.
