UPDATED: Security Guard Stabbed at Providence Club - Board of Licenses Orders Emergency Closure

A security guard has been hospitalized following a stabbing at a Providence club early Saturday morning.
The Board of Licenses has now ordered an emergency closure of the establishment.

About Incident
Police said they were called to VIVIX at 549 Broad Street shortly after 2 AM for a report of a disturbance.
Security told police that a member of security personnel -- a male in his 40s -- had been stabbed during a fight.
The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital.
Detectives are currently investigating.
Board of Licences Closes Club
The Board of Licenses held an emergency meeting on Saturday, at which time it voted unanimously to issue an emergency 72 hour closure of the club.
The club and its lawyers are due to appear before the board again on Tuesday.
