Position description: duties
The President Elect will take over the duties of the President on January 1, 2019. In the interim, from January 1 to December 31, 2018, the President Elect will assist the President as appropriate with the goal of familiarization with the main duties of the office:

        *Furthering the mission of the AHCT and seeking opportunities to do so, such as
                establishing new working groups, committees, partnerships, and initiatives;
        *Contracting with publishers of 'Comedia Performance' and liaising with the editor;
        *Overseeing and assisting the officers (Vice President for Membership and Registration,
                Vice President for Annual Conference, Treasurer, Secretary) as appropriate;
        *Securing the Dietz Plenary speaker;
        *Overseeing and assisting the Board of Directors and their respective committees
                as appropriate;
        *Maintaining communication with the officers and the board and soliciting their input
                as issues arise;
        *Conducting the annual meetings of the officers, the Board of Directors, and
                the general membership in El Paso;
        *Overseeing and assisting with nominations and elections
                of officers and board members;
        *Serving as the public face of the AHCT in collaborative relationships such as
                the Paisanos de El Chamizal and the Fundación Siglo de Oro (Spain);
        *Communicating with AHCT webmaster and overseeing the AHCT web presence;
        *Securing tickets to the Chamizal festival for Symposium attendees.
