The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs would like to present a webinar featuring Dr. Sadiye Amcaoglu Rieder, an immunologist at MedImmune/AstraZeneca. This is the first of the series titled BEEN THERE DONE THAT,  organized by the Office of Postdoctoral Affairswhere postdocs who have transitioned into various non academic and academic careers in United States or elsewhere will present their personal experiences and advice in finding their current career track. These webinars will also include resources by Office of Postdoctoral Affairs related to that career track.

About the event:
The webinar will focus on the personal experiences of Dr. Rieder on finding a job within the industry, specifically on how to look for positions, getting your resume noticed, the interview process, and the day-to-day responsibilities of a typical industry scientist position. The webinar will consist of a 15-20 minute presentation by Dr. Rieder, followed by a Q&A session with the participants.

About the speaker:
Dr. Sadiye Amcaoglu Rieder joined MedImmune/AstraZeneca in 2015, and is the scientific lead of two programs aimed at modulating T cell responses. Her research interest is focused on understanding human T cell biology, particularly the co-receptors of T cell activation. Sadiye has extensive experience in in-vitro and in-vivo models of disease, and in examining functional and molecular characteristics of human T cells. She enjoys investigating the role of adaptive immunity in pathogenesis of disease and drives scientific strategic planning. She received her PhD in Biomedical Science from University of South Carolina, School of Medicine. She then did her postdoctoral training at National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, in which she worked on transcription factor biology of T cells.
