Safety Leads must have an OEC, WFR, EMT, or higher medical certification. The Safety Leads are in charge of basic safety and risk management training for trip leaders, processing medical forms, doing safety support during Strips, and assembling the medical kits for Strips. Outdoor Logistics Coordinator (1)
The OLC works closely with the directors to organize trips, which includes helping choose which trips to run, updating trip descriptions, and coordinating transportation. You will also be in charge of making vehicle and cabin reservations, and organizing gear and food. The logistics coordinator is also our lead Strip Leader Trainer - you and the Directors will be in charge of planning and running the leader feed just before Strips and making sure all the Strip leaders are prepared to lead safe and fun Strips. (needs to be on in the Spring)
Outreach Coordinator (2)
Leading up to Strips, the Outreach Coordinator will be particularly responsible for ensuring that Strips this year is as inclusive, welcoming, and accessible as possible. This position requires innovative thinking to create opportunities to make Strips exciting for everyone (not just those who love the outdoors), as well as facilitating discussions and reflections among directorate on these issues. This coordinator should bring a diverse and thoughtful perspective to the position, with a focus on incorporating historically underrepresented groups in the Strips program. This role is being critically re-thought this year. You will be a huge part of making this role into what we hope for it to be far into the future, so this will take initiative, motivation, and hard work for an awesome cause.
Sustainability Coordinator (1)
Reflecting on past Strips, this year we’re offering a totally new role - Sustainability Coordinator. Your role is to evaluate everything we do on Strips, from food to bus routes, and seek ways to reduce our environmental footprint as best we can. You get to develop and implement the messaging and education on sustainability around Strips while keeping everyone accountable to our goals on sustainability. We’re looking for someone who has initiative and experience working with sustainable groups on campus. Additionally, as a Strip coordinator, you will help plan logistics and implementing big picture ideas for Strips. As with Outreach Coordinator, you will also be a huge part in shaping this role for the future! (needs to be on in the Spring)
