Altenew Craft-A-Flower: California Giants Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello and welcome back to my blog! It’s time for the new Craft-a-Flower reveal! I’m so excited to join Altenew for the brand new Craft-A-Flower: California Giants Layering Die Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway. You should be arriving here from the awesome Jenny’s blog, but if not, you can go back to the start, at the Altenew Card Blog and go from there.

First, I die cut the flowers and leaves from the Cherry Blossom, Rose Petal, and Green Meadows Gradient Cardstock Sets using the Craft-A-Flower: California Giants Layering Die Set. Below are the cardstock colours I used for the different layers:
Flower:
Layer 1 – Pink Diamond
Layer 2 – Pinkalicious
Layer 3 – Razzleberry
Layer 4 – Cosmic Berry
Buds:
Layer 1 – Minty Mint
Layer 2 – Just Green
Layer 3 – Razzleberry
Layer 4 – Cosmic Berry
Stem 1: Just Green
Stem 2: Hunter Green
Leaves:
Layer 1 – Minty Mint
Layer 2 – Just Green
Layer 3 – Hunter Green

After that, I inked the edges of the flowers and leaves using darker shades of Crisp Dye Inks. Below are the colours I used:
Flower:
Layer 1 – Pinkalicious
Layer 2 – Razzleberry
Layer 3 – Cosmic Berry
Layer 4 – Jet Black
Buds:
Layer 1 – Minty Mint
Layer 2 – Just Green
Layer 3 – Cosmic Berry
Layer 4 – Jet Black
Stem 1: Hunter Green
Stem 2: Jet Black
Leaves:
Layer 1 – Just Green
Layer 2 – Hunter Green
Layer 3 – Jet Black

Then I assembled the images using precision glue.

Next, I inked an A2 watercolour cardstock using Glacier Caves Mixed Media Inks. I directly inked the watercolour panel with the ink pad, starting with the lightest on top and darkest at the bottom. I then ran a brayer over it to blend the inks. Once the panel was dry, I placed it in the Crystal Wall 3D Embossing Folder and ran it through the die cutting machine.

I then die cut the frame from Jet Black cardstock using the Diamond Frame Cover Die. After that, I die cut the sentiment from Wisteria cardstock using the hello die from the Craft-A-Flower: California Giants Layering Die Set. To give it an ombre effect, I inked it using Hydrangea and Ultraviolet Crisp Dye Inks along with my ink blending tools. Next, I die cut the shadow for the sentiment from Jet Black cardstock and assembled the pieces using precision glue.

Lastly, I assembled the card and stuck this panel on an A2 card base.
