About Lily Creek Gardens

We are daylily growers and hybridizers located in the beautiful Chagrin Valley east of Cleveland, Ohio.  We are degreed horticulturists and entomologists and have been growing flowers, tropical orchids and daylilies for over 20 years.  It’s our hobby, passion and profession.  Our gardens are a riot of color in June, July and August!  The daylilies are the real stars surrounded by landscaped gardens and 4 acres of woodlands.  The perennial and shade gardens are always evolving and growing.  We love to share gardening stories and plants, but most importantly we enjoy friends, visitors and your stories and experiences.  The gardens are open several times throughout the summer to civic and garden clubs. Or just give us a call.

Please enjoy perusing our daylily introductions and promising new seedlings.  We began hybridizing in 2007 and are proud to release our first daylily introductions Spring 2015.  Our new cultivars have been officially registered with the American Hemerocallis Association.  We breed and select for rich colors, pleasing shapes and patterns, abundant bloom, dependable growth habit and winter hardiness.

Our property sits on a gentle slope in Chagrin Valley that meanders down to Wiley Creek, a tributary of the Chagrin River.  The land was homesteaded in 1941 with a small residence designed and built by Ottomar E. Gaiser, an architect noted for charming colonial revival style homes.  Otto refers to our home as a "New England Farmhouse".  Nature abounds in Chagrin Valley with fox, coyote, opossum and deer. And our free range chickens keep a wary eye to the sky for Red Tailed Hawks.  It’s a jungle out there!
