The Rigid Intermediate Bulk Container Association represents manufacturers of new rigid intermediate bulk containers in North America and their suppliers.

RIBCA is an affiliate of the Industrial Packaging Alliance of North America (IPANA).

Its manufacturer member companies are required to become members of IPANA and must manufacture new rigid intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) in North America.

Associate member companies (suppliers) are also required to become IPANA members and must supply new IBC manufacturers in North America either with products such as components, accessories, raw materials, and equipment or package testing and consulting services.

IBCs are rigid, self-standing vessels that can be lined or unlined and are constructed  from plastic, metal, or fiberboard. Their standard capacity ranges from 119 – 793 gallons. IBCs are used to transport various liquid or solid products, including those considered hazardous materials or dangerous goods.

RIBCA represents the interests of its member companies related to federal regulatory and safety matters while encouraging the adoption of uniform safety regulations, specifications and inspection methods for IBCs.
