Hello everyone! It’s time for a new stand-alone die release from Altenew!! One of my favorite of all the release types, and the Mighty Kind Collection doesn’t disappoint! Today’s post is part of a blog hop and giveaway. If you landed here from Natasha’s blog you’re on right the track. If not, you can start at the top of the hop on the Altenew blog.

My first project – or should I say projects – are a pair of cards created using the Simple Shapes Cover die. I used the cover die to die cut four panels of cardstock in coordinating colors – hot pink, pale blue, Altenew Lavender Fields and Gold Mirror. I saved the frames and pieces, then cut one more frame from white cardstock, which I adhered to a white notecard covered with a double sided adhesive sheet.

I created the left card by piecing in the cardstock like a jigsaw puzzle, adding colors at random and adhering the pieces inside the white frame using the exposed double-sided adhesive. I aimed to avoid two of the same colors next to each other. When finished I had a full A2 card panel of inlaid die cuts.

I kept the sentiment simple, given the bold background, by die cutting several of the letters from the Mighty Alphabet alpha dies from Jet Black cardstock to spell out ‘Woo Hoo’. Each letter was die cut three times and stacked together. I adhered them to the front using the frame die lines as guides. I also coated each of the letters in Nuvo Crystal Glaze to add shine.

On the second card I stacked all of the colored cardstock frames together, very slightly offset, with the Gold Mirror piece on top. I snipped off the colored frame edges where they overhung the gold frame, then adhered the entire piece to a white notecard.

The sentiment features the new Be Kind die set, with the top layer die cut from glossy black cardstock, and the bottom layer from vellum, adhered together, then popped onto the centre of the card with thin strips of foam tape. I love the dimension you get from stacking these frames multiple times!

My next card features the Pop-Up Dahlia die, and this couldn’t be easier to create!

I trimmed down a panel of pink patterned paper from the Mesmerizing Pours 6×6 patterned paper to 4″ x. 5.25″. I trimmed a panel of Lavender Fields cardstock to a little larger, and die cut it with the Pop-Up Dahlia die, adhering the two pieces together around the outer edges.

You’ll see, the patterned paper peaks through from behind – super fun! I stamped a sentiment in Obsidian Pigment Ink directly onto the front, then popped up. the leaves at a slight off set from the cut line behind them, using foam squares to prop them up. I splattered Antique Gold and Pure White Ink Spray over the panel then mounted it white foam tape to a white note card. You’ll also notice, I flicked up the petals for extra dimension (using my tweezers). To finish I added a few crystals and pearls.

This next card showcases the new ‘Way to Go’ sentiment die, which I once again layered using vellum and glossy black cardstock. I layered up the black piece three times for a little more of a chip board look.

This is a large sentiment and I thought it would look fun over the top of a bright background. I used the Shattered Cubes Builder Stencil, paired with the four inks from the Northern Shores ink collection, rotating the stencil and changing inks each time for this fun graphic look.

Before adhering the sentiment, I added a few splatters with Pure White Ink Spray, then popped the sentiment over the top. I finished with a few black enamel dots.

My final project might just be my favorite! It features the Lovely Envelope die set – this is a super cute little crafty set, and you can fill up the ‘envelope’ with hearts or florals included in the set. I die cut the set from watercolor cardstock, then hand painted each piece with my Watercolor Essentials 12 Pan Set. I splattered all the pieces with Pure White Ink Spray, then. set aside to dry.

My background features the new Calming Reflection Cover die, cut twice from white cardstock, and adhered tother with foam tape, rotating the top piece for a fun look. I then mounted it onto a white notecard. I pieced the envelope together on top, and finished with ‘XOXO’ die cut from Gold Mirror cardstock using the Mighty Alphabet dies. A few Antique Gold sequins finished the card.
